Join us for a discussion April 18 of the 2020 U.S. Census and the possible effects of the citizenship question included in the census.
The program is hosted by the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission and the League of Women Voters of St. Louis Park. Speakers are Andrew Virden, director of Census operations for Minnesota, and Nadia Pratt, immigration attorney.
Data collected by the U.S. Census determines representation (number of members) in the U.S. and Minnesota House of Representatives; guides federal funding to communities for schools, roads, hospitals and emergency services; and assists businesses in locating or building their facilities, recruit employees and conducting market research. The results of the U.S. Census could affect the future of St. Louis Park and of Minnesota, so ensuring a complete count is important.
Anyone can attend and everyone is welcome!
