There is no charge for St. Louis Park residents who bring material from their homes (non-commercial material). A Minnesota ID, driver’s license or utility bill is required as proof of residency.

• Branches/tree limbs up to 8 feet in length (no diameter restrictions)
• Brush
• Logs

• Dirt/soil or sod
• Trash, metal, concrete, fences
• Lumber or wood scraps

Leaves, grass, and branches less than 4 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter are also collected through the city's solid waste collection program. View the curbside yard waste preparation instructions.

St. Louis Park residents can pick up a limited amount of compost at the site each spring and fall, when it is open to residents. Each household can take 25 gallons of compost (equal to five 5-gallon buckets) in the spring and again in the fall.

Compost is located past the gate, near the operator's shed and is only available during the hours of operation listed on this webpage.

Proof of residency required. Bring your own shovel and container.

Compost is provided through the city's contract with The Mulch Store.

Free shredded wood mulch is available to city residents at the residential brush drop-off site. The mulch is stored outside of the site’s gate near the intersection of Cedar Lake Road and Colorado Avenue South. It can be picked up at any time Sunday – Saturday (please note that compost pickup mentioned on this webpage has specific pickup dates and times).

Mulch is typically available spring through fall.

Note: The free screened black dirt for residents has been paused due to the increased threat of jumping worm (Amynthas spp.) infestations. The continuation of this service is being evaluated.

Natural, shredded wood mulch delivery is available within St. Louis Park for a fee. The cost for approximately 3 cubic yards is $80.

Mulch is delivered on Thursdays between 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., and appointments are scheduled on the hour. You do not need to be present at your home for the mulch to be delivered.

To request a mulch delivery, complete the mulch delivery request form. City staff will contact you by phone to confirm payment and a delivery date and time. Checks should be made out to the "City of St. Louis Park."
