Public skating

No hockey sticks, pucks, equipment or goals are allowed. Skating is available for all ages.

Indoor skating

Indoor public skating is available at The Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday Noon – 1:30 p.m. (no skating Dec. 25 and 27; Jan. 1; Feb. 28; March 31; April 2, 4 and 5; May 26)
Saturday 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (no skating Dec. 28, March 1, April 5, May 24)
Sunday 2 – 3:30 p.m. (no skating March 2, April 20)
  • Fees:
    •  Youth and senior: $4 per person OR $35 for 10 passes
    • Adult: $5 per person OR $40 for 10 passes
Outdoor skating

Outdoor skating is available at the ROC, 3700 Monterey Drive, during the below dates and times.

Friday 5:45 – 7:15 p.m.
Saturday 12:15 – 1:45 p.m. (no skating Nov. 30; Jan. 4; Feb. 1 and 15)
Sunday 12:15 – 1:45 p.m. (no skating Feb. 16 and 23)

    •  Youth and senior: $4 per person OR $35 for 10 passes
    • Adult: $5 per person OR $40 for 10 passes

Adult open hockey

Adult hockey is available for those age 16 and older at The Rec Center's indoor ice arena, 3700 Monterey Drive. Schedule is subject to change. Call 952.924.2567 to confirm dates and times.

ROC open pond hockey

There is nothing better than the sound of hockey sticks clashing against each other, pucks hitting the wooden boards, skates carving through the ice and the fresh air. Open pond hockey is held at the ROC, 3700 Monterey Drive, and is for all ages.

Now – March 9, 2025

Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – noon (no hockey Jan. 4, Feb. 1, 15 and 16)
  • Fee: free

ROC warming house

The warming house is located inside The Rec Center by the ROC. The warming house has rental skates available during public skating sessions.

Friday 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday Noon – 2 p.m.
Sunday Noon – 2 p.m.

 

Rec Center Skate Shop

The skate shop is located in The Rec Center in between the west and east ice arenas. The shop has rental skates available during public skating sessions. Skate sharpening services may be available outside the below hours. Ask at The Rec Center front desk.

  • Skate sharpening is $5 per pair.
  • Skate rental is $3 per pair.

Skating lessons

St. Louis Park Skate School offers the Ice Skating Institute (I.S.I.) weSKATE program for ages four and up. Each class presents a progression of specific skills that build upon one another. View a list of current ice skating and hockey lessons.
