To use the dog parks, residents must have a current St. Louis Park dog license, which includes access to the parks. Non-residents can use the parks if they purchase an off-leash dog permit, which is good January through December. See how to apply for a dog license and off-leash permit on the pet owners page

Dog Park hours

7 a.m. — 8:30 p.m.

Leash law

When not at an off-leash dog park, dogs are not allowed to run at large in St. Louis Park. Dogs must be controlled by a leash no more than 20 feet long, which is shortened to six feet when another person or animal is within 20 feet.

Dog park rules

  • Keep your dog in sight and under control at all times. You are legally liable for your dog's actions.
  • Please control excessive barking.
  • Keep your dog on a leash until you enter the fenced enclosure.
  • Pick up after you pet and place dog poop in a plastic bag.
  • Properly dispose of all pet poop and litter in a public garbage can at the dog park or in your own garbage can. Don’t dispose of pet waste in another resident’s garbage can or in commercial garbage cans.
  • Bring water to the park for your dog. Glass containers are not allowed.
  • Up to three dogs are allowed in the park per person.
  • Make sure your dog is wearing its off-leash dog park permit or St. Louis Park dog license at all times.
