Recycling requirements for commercial entities exist at the city, county and state level.

City requirements

Chapter 22 of the city code includes requirements for commercial buildings (pages 22:14 - 22:17).

In addition, St. Louis Park's Zero Waste Packaging Ordinance requires licensed food establishments to use recyclable or compostable food and beverage packaging. Any businesses using those items to serve customers on-site must also provide appropriate recycling and/or organics collection.

County requirements

Hennepin County's Ordinance 13 details all recycling requirements in the county. See Sections IV (General provisions for commercial generators) and V (Shared provisions for multifamily housing and commercial generators) for relevant requirements.

State requirements

Information about the state commercial recycling law can be found on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's website
