February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by Black and African Americans and a recognition of their central role in U.S. history.
In recognition of the month, short biographies of Black and African American City of St. Louis Park and school district employees will be featured throughout the city’s parks, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to learn more about those that make up our community and workforce. Each poster will highlight one employee and will include someone who inspires them when it comes to Black history. Park visitors will have the chance to celebrate Black History Month with us by learning about the influential people throughout Black history who have inspired our employees.
Find the posters, along with a QR code to learn more, in park buildings throughout the city. If you are unsure of where all the city parks are, view our parks directory.
Staff members will also be featured each Monday and the last two Wednesdays in February through Facebook and Instagram (@stlouispark), and each Monday through GovDelivery emails.
