Margaret Rog has served as Ward 1 council member since 2018. Her history of volunteerism in the community includes leadership roles with the Birchwood Neighborhood Association, the Peter Hobart PTO, St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts and the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission. She’s also served the community as a Children First asset champion, election judge and grant writer.

Rog has spent her career in the nonprofit sector, and currently works in development for a St. Paul-based human services nonprofit. She earned her Master of Arts in journalism from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Augsburg College. Rog’s breadth of experience across the nonprofit sector – in the arts, education, health care, human services and with diverse cultural communities – informs her perspective as an elected official.

In her leisure time, Rog enjoys running, biking and yoga, singing and playing guitar with friends. She has three adult children and lives in the Birchwood neighborhood with her husband Ben.
