Council Member Sue Budd began serving as the Ward 3 council member in 2022. Budd has lived in St. Louis Park for over 25 years, in the Sorenson and Cobblecrest neighborhoods.

For the last 10 years, Budd has been doing community organizing work in St. Louis Park. She has organized for education equity, criminal justice and affordable housing. She has been an active leader with ISAIAH and a member of both the Suburban Hennepin Housing Coalition and the St. Louis Park Community Housing Team. Her volunteer efforts earned her the Corporate Women of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners. She has served on the Board of MN Alliance with Youth and the Friends of the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. She attends St. Joan of Arc Community Church.

Budd holds a bachelor’s degree from the Carlson School of Management and has spent her business career as a consultant in business processes. Most recently Budd has worked in the nonprofit sector doing racial justice work. In her free time, she enjoys theater, biking and the outdoors with her husband, Dave, their son, grandson and their new schnauzer puppy.
