Project background

The development, Caraway, was formerly named Luxe Residential.

City council approved plans for a planned unit development (PUD) application for a new six-story apartment building in the West End, located at the old Olive Garden site. The project includes 207 units ranging in size from studio to three bedrooms and two levels of underground parking. The site also includes a new pocket park along 16th Street and pedestrian improvements connecting the apartment to the rest of the West End.

The project provides eight units affordable to households at 60% area medium income (AMI).

Public meetings

  • Dec. 19, 2018 — planning commission held a public hearing on the project and make a recommendation of approval to city council
  • Jan. 7, 2019 — city council approved a first reading of the PUD ordinance
  • Jan. 22, 2019 — city council approved a second reading of the PUD ordinance
