Latest updates

The city council approved the preliminary plat and conditional use permit on Dec.18, 2023 and approved the final plat on June 3, 2024. The developer has submitted building permit applications for the project, which are currently being finalized.

Construction is expected to start for the project in spring 2025.

Project background

GW Properties has applied for city approval to build two retail buildings in the southeast corner of the parking lot at 5775 Wayzata Blvd. The new buildings will contain four fast casual restaurants. A farmer's market currently uses the space, and the market will be relocated to another part of the parking lot if the project is approved. No changes are proposed to the existing office building.

The applicant applied for a preliminary plat to create an additional parcel at the site; a conditional use permit to allow more than one principal building and a drive through lane for a restaurant pick-up window; and a special permit amendment to update the existing approvals on the site to allow the new uses.
