The St. Louis Park Fire Department provides one-on-one car seat safety inspections to educate people on how to correctly install child car seats. Our goal is to teach you how to properly install your car seat.

Car seat safety checks are open to both residents and non-residents and take approximately 30 minutes for each seat to be inspected for proper installation. Please read the car seat installation instructions and attempt to install the car seat on your own prior to the appointment. You should also bring the car seat manual and your vehicle owner’s manual to your appointment.

Car seat safety checks are by appointment only. We’re not able to accommodate walk-ins.

Car seat safety check fees

Fees are the same for residents and non-residents.

• One seat – $40
• Two seats – $60
• Three seats – $80
